Tentang Perlumbaan Agamawan

Fikir wahai politikus Malaysia, fikir.

Of Sherlock

I am easily influenced by movies or series I'm watching. A few years back during my matriculation years, I would sit and eat like L when watching Death Note.

These past few days I was watching Sherlock. Thanks to that, I rekindled my love for mysteries. I've always been intrigued with 'em, I followed a lot of mystery stories back then -- translated version of Enid Blyton and Alfred Hitchcock's novels, Detective School Q, etc.

Well, today during my examination, I took the time to write (at the back of the question paper) an elaborate plan of a murder. It was fiction, every bit of it. I was just pondering how would a person in an exam hall murder another person rows and tables away from him without getting caught.

One thing for sure, I hope that anyone reading that plan (had to pass up the question paper) do not mistaken it for an actual plan. Two things: a) I don't really want to murder anyone (disclaimer). b) it was too un-intelligent of a plan. Really.

Well, get along with your lives then.

Cheerio.

On Fear

Let's discuss fear.

I was thinking about fear, on how irrational fear is. And absurd.

However, the more I thought about it, the more rational it becomes. At least in the context of human evolution. I hypothesize that fear is a form of safeguard mechanism for humans -- to protect against harm. Or to be scientifically correct: humans who developed a sense of fear survived better throughout generations than humans who didn't. Having fear back then means not doing certain activities that might cause injuries or death, hence better viability.

In that sense, fear is rational.

Fear is still rational nowadays -- in terms of it's usage as a safeguard mechanism. Nevertheless, it can also be irrational when not used to our advantage. For example, fear of rejection, fear of moving on, fear of trying something now, fear of the dark, fear of ghosts, fear of the paranormal. If not controlled, they can be absurd, and dangerous even.

Especially the fear of the paranormal.

Add that fear to the ability of our brain to connect dots and create conclusions. It's where fear would overcome logic and rationality -- and create it's own logic of ghosts and the paranormal.

Safe to say that rationalisation of fear should be done. I should do it.

At the end of the day, fear is rational, but absurd. Context is important.

Cheerio.

Let's Disappear

I have the tendency to just disappear out of Twitter when I'm stressful times -- or when an exam is near. Completely disappear, I mean. Deactivate.

I'm not sure why, it's probably a defensive mechanism against myself so that I don't tweet according to my current emotional status. But for some reason, here I am typing this blog entry. Well, I assume nobody is reading my blog. Who writes/reads a blog nowadays, anyway? Point made.

On a side note, I should make my writing a bit more serious in the future, in terms of content, structure, and grammar.

Alright then, let's continue some studying well enjoying a cup of freshly brewed green tea.

Cheerio.

Update 2014 #1

The reason I started this blog was to find my voice so that I could write -- a story, a novel to be exact. However, I can't even seem to write a proper blog entry let alone sentences with good grammar.

So, let's do a bit of "journaling", shall we? One thing at a time.

1. Today, I found out a good friend of mine back in my matriculation days passed away. From the current report (of this writing), seems like it was of a natural cause during his sleep. Innalillahi wa innailaihi roji'un.

2. Also, today I finished the first season of Sherlock. Yes, late. It was interesting. Being the person who is easily interested in things that fictional characters do, Sherlock suddenly re-awakened my interest in astronomy and violin. Note that I wanted to be an astronomer when I was little. Seems like stargazing is nice, and could be beneficial, but VERY expensive. And I rather spend that money on my coffee hobby. Same goes to violin.

3. Now I'm just typing for the sack of typing. I'm trying to deliver everything from my train of thought into a blog entry. That was what my initial plan for my blog. Yes. Just to have that railway track out in the open.

And now, I'm just crapping. Cheerio.

PRK & Sentimen Keagamaan Yang Batil

Kenapa?

Sekian.

Meh.

Managing a startup is hard, very hard. I've stumbled upon walls and obstacles multiple times. I came out stronger.

But this time is different. There's a bigger wall that I need to overxome, by hook or by crook. But at times, taking a step back is okay, especially when your head is going haywire.

You know, at times I even cry because everything is all over the place. Then, it'll get better and I'll be stronger than before.
